Japan's food system faces many challenges. Japan relies heavily on imports for key protein staples such as meat and soybeans, especially as new and sustainable protein sources are needed, making it difficult to secure protein to meet the demands of a growing global population. This is one of the countries where it can be difficult.
We have a solution to this challenge. The aim is to introduce sweet lupine beans to Japan as a new high-quality vegetable protein ingredient and sustainable domestic crop.
Sweet lupine beans are a bean crop that is rapidly gaining global attention, with high nutritional value and product application flexibility similar to soybeans. It is also a highly sustainable crop that benefits farmers and the environment.
We believe that sweet lupine beans, as a new domestic crop, will provide new economic opportunities for farmers and businesses, provide innovative products for consumers, and transform fragility in Japan's food system into resilience. I think it is possible.
We have focused on tempeh, a fermented legume food that originated in Indonesia, and have been commercializing it using soybeans and chickpeas. Tempeh is rich in protein, B vitamins, linoleic acid, dietary fiber, minerals, saponins, isoflavones, etc., making it highly nutritious and good for digestion.
In the future, as we introduce sweet lupine beans into Japan as a sustainable domestic crop, we aim to process sweet lupine beans into tempeh and sell it as a food product that is easy to eat for general consumers. .
Currently, prototype products such as cookies and meatballs are almost complete, and we are preparing for full-scale sales.
In this project, we are looking for people who can work together with us on building an EC site and digital marketing using SNS, etc., for D2C sales of tempeh processed foods.
In addition, it has been discovered that legumes such as lupine have the potential to reduce greenhouse gas (N2O) emissions, and the company plans to use blockchain to record this greenhouse gas reduction effect and link it to sales promotions. We are collaborating with various universities on social implementation experiments, so we encourage anyone who is interested to get involved.

We are made up of a team with a wealth of practical experience in everything from lupine bean production to processing, BtoB sales, and DtoC sales processes. One of our strengths is that we collaborate with universities to conduct research in deep tech fields such as greenhouse gas (N2O) reduction effects and genome breeding.
Representative Director Ken Irumi
Although lupine beans are not yet familiar in Japan, they are attracting a lot of attention in the Mediterranean region as an appetizer for beer, and in Western countries as a protein source that replaces soybeans. Our company is a start-up company selected for Yokohama City's accelerator as the first lupine bean production company in Japan.
As the importance of ESG investment increases these days, our business, which not only improves profitability, but also helps improve the global environment, is attracting a lot of attention.
Our strength is that we carry out a series of operations, from the primary industry of producing agricultural products, mainly lupine beans, to the production of processed foods, such as fermented foods, and DtoC (direct sales). We are working on initiatives using blockchain such as ReFi to revitalize lupine bean cultivation.
You will be able to learn a wide range of topics from production to sales, research and development, and deep tech fields such as genome breeding, so if you are interested in agribusiness, please apply.
