The Yokohama Future Organization has launched a space project to spark a "space-themed movement" in Yokohama.
As the culmination of 2023, we held 2 lectures and 3 workshops/exhibition booths at the YOXO Festival held on February 4rd and 11th.

[A-02] Space life ~ Maintenance of the Earth's ecosystem and life in space ~

This session featured Mr. Yosuke Yamashiki, director of the SIC Manned Astronomy Research Center, Kyoto University, and Mr. Masato Sakurai, research area leader of the Research Unit 2, Research and Development Division, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). A talk session on the global ecosystem and sustaining life was held. To begin the session, Mr. Yamashiki, along with dancer Atsushi Hioki and bassist Rei Kondo, played the YOXO space theme song [Harbour to the Space] on a synthesizer, cheering the audience who had gathered at the venue. It started with a captivating opening.

[D-02] Space Habitation ~What is necessary to live on the Moon and Mars~

Lectures were given by Mr. Takuya Ohno, Director of Space Affairs, Innovation Promotion Office, Kajima Corporation, and Mr. Yoshifumi Inatani, Representative Director of the Space Passenger Transportation Promotion Council and Director of the Moon Village Association. Mr. Inatani explains the necessity and mechanism of artificial gravity, the Luna Glass and Mars Glass that he has envisioned, and then talks about the construction of a 1,000-person society on the moon that is being considered by JAXA and the Moon Village Association. There was talk about the technology and systems necessary for this purpose.

[D-03] Space Diving ~ Underwater pseudo-lunar program 1/6 Experience gravity ~

In this session, Mr. Takaaki Fujinaga, representative of Aquanaut, who learned from the underwater training for astronauts already employed by NASA, will talk about the ``fake lunar surface'', which pursues space diving that allows you to experience the lunar surface underwater. He has developed a new course, and expressed his enthusiasm for promoting it in the future.

[A-04] [Panel discussion] Can we take “Earth” to the Moon/Mars?

This session featured a discussion on the future of human life on the Moon and Mars, and featured a wide range of experts. The sessions highlighted the current status and future possibilities of space development, and provided specific technologies and ideas for realizing life on the Moon and Mars. In addition, the views of various experts in space development were exchanged, providing a place for participants to gain new insights and knowledge.

[D-06] Yokohama x Great Space Exchange Meeting - Let's talk about GMS (Great Mobility Suit) development! -

First, nine speakers from various backgrounds made presentations about ``how they became interested in space, what they are currently working on, and their dreams for space.'' The difficulties that can be expected when developing such a robot, how to make it profitable, what materials to use, whether it is okay to be insect-shaped instead of human-shaped, and whether it needs two legs in the first place. Specific discussions were held, such as:

This session, which concluded the two-day event, featured a heated discussion about space development and the future of Yokohama. Deep insights and innovative ideas from experts will provide participants with an opportunity to deepen their interest and understanding of space exploration, highlighting the various aspects of space exploration and how Yokohama can contribute to the space industry. It was a valuable opportunity to explore this.

[Workshop/Exhibition Booth Topics]

The workshop will include a programming experience with the theme of JAXA's latest supply ship, an experience of flying a film case rocket, an experience of operating an actual lunar rover, and a VR experience that allows you to explore the inside of the artificial gravity habitat facility "Luna Glass". There were lots of experiences for the children to experience space up close. There were also many drones flying around the venue.

At the exhibition booth, there are many exhibits on themes that will pique the interest of even adults, from the latest technology such as artificial satellites and communication in outer space, to a full-scale model of an artificial satellite developed by volunteer office workers, and a space funeral. there was.
