Yokohama future organization regular member 3G seminar vol.XNUMX was held

On November 2022, 11, we held the Yokohama Future Organization Regular Member 17G Seminar vol.3 with the cooperation of Altair Engineering Co., Ltd. and Docomo Business Solutions Co., Ltd.
This time, we had a slightly different angle from past seminars, such as "5G and the city" and "If radio waves could be visualized." We held a workshop.

In the first half, Yokohama Future Organization introduced "5G efforts in Yokohama Minato Mirai 1 district" and Altair Engineering Co., Ltd. introduced the mechanism and application examples of "XNUMXG radio wave propagation simulation using XNUMXD city model (* XNUMX)".

(*1) One of the leading projects for 3D urban model development promoted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism "Project PLATEAU", "base station layout planning utilizing local 5G radio wave simulation". By establishing a method that enables easy and efficient planning of local 3G base station layouts using 5D city models, we will promote the early development and utilization of 5G networks and develop new networks using 5G. Implemented by Altair Engineering Co., Ltd. and Yokohama Minato Mirai XNUMX, a general incorporated association, with the aim of creating products and services.

In the second half, workshops were held on the themes of "How can radio wave propagation simulation be used?" and "What can be done in a XNUMXG networked city?"

A 5G area was constructed using mobile base station vehicles for this seminar.Based on the simulation results, we actually measured radio wave propagation and discussed the effectiveness of the simulation.

In addition, we observed demonstration experiments and demonstrations using XNUMXG and expanded ideas for use cases.

In the discussion, "How can radio wave propagation simulation be used?"
"It is useful to be able to consider the selection of 5G base stations in advance." "It can be used when starting a small 3G network." Opinions such as "There is no limit to whether to model in detail."
Also, regarding "What can be done in a XNUMXG networked city?"
"A city where robots run around and relay by drone seems possible." "Wireless transmission of music and games in places where people are concentrated can be made with low latency." We aim to create information that was not previously available.”

Yokohama Future Organization will continue to hold opportunities to study and discuss XNUMXG, aiming to create XNUMXG use cases from Yokohama!
